Hi, welcome to my blog. My name is Kaitlyn and I am a twenty one year old college student trying to live the healthiest life I can, as well as helping other people be the healthiest they can be as well! I am currently an athletic training major so I stay pretty busy with school, work, classes and clincals. I am a health enthusiast, but also a realist and human. I try to make heath and well being my top priority but still want to have fun and live a little. I live by the moto "progress not perfection" Even though I am always chasing perfection I know that its only relative and progress, along with goals is the key to living life to the fullest and getting the most out of it. Right now my current goal is competing in a figure bodybuilding competition in the spring. The three most important things in my life, besides people the people in it(aka family and boyfriend) would be peanut butter, lifting, and my pets (permanent and temporary).
I believe that there is more to health than just eating and exercising. Every aspect in our lives are interconnected; the more of those areas that can be improved the more other areas will improve as well. If there is a healthier and better-for-you alternative to something I always take it or make it. I don't however get into the fads unless they work for me, which so far hasn't happened. I like to stick to the bare bones basics. I have yet to find a workout or nutrition fad (ie paleo, gluten free, juicing) that has worked or given me enough reason to give up my favorite things to try it. Everyone should do what makes them feel at their best, as well as what puts them in the best state of mind. For me that is when I'm at the gym lifting and eating healthy. Strength, both mental and physical, is something I am always in search of and always looking to feel. I lift six times a week instead of running because I feel much better about myself and much stronger when I'm pumping out new maxes than dying at a fifteen minute mile pace.
